Oakville Special Events Plan

The Special Events Plan will provide a roadmap to guide future planning and decisions relating to special events in the community.

Special events bring significant benefits to the community of Oakville. They provide entertainment for residents, encourage community engagement, enhance community pride, support the local economy, and contribute positively to the high quality of life that community members enjoy.

To ensure the community continues to benefit from events, the Town of Oakville has started developing a Special Events Plan. The plan is meant to provide a roadmap that will guide future planning and decisions relating to special events in the community.

Expedition Management Consulting has been hired to work closely with the town to develop the plan and coordinate a variety of community engagement opportunities.

Key dates

Consultation occurred with elected officials, community stakeholders and residents during the spring and summer of 2024. Preliminary findings were shared with staff in the fall.

A draft plan is expected early in 2025. A council workshop and further public consultation will follow, targeted to occur in February and March.
