As the town grows through population and jobs, additional land and infrastructure is needed to continue delivering quality services. 

We use three major financial tools to recover these costs from development: 

  1. Development Charges (DCs)
  2. Community Benefits Charges (CBCs)
  3. Parkland Dedication
Development Charges
Fees the town collects from property developers that can be used for future infrastructure.
Community Benefits Charge
A charge for high-density development and redevelopment.
Parkland Dedication
A tool that allows Oakville to obtain land for parks as a condition of development.
Growth Funding Tools Annual Reports
Development charge, parkland, CBC and bonusing annual reports and reserve fund statements by year.
