The Town of Oakville’s popular Family Day celebration is returning on Monday, February 17 to facilities across Oakville. Bring your loved ones and enjoy a range of family-friendly activities, demonstrations, and exhibitions for all ages and abilities.

We’re excited to showcase a variety of recreation and cultural programs designed to bring our community together. Stay tuned for updates as we get closer to the big day — we’ll be sharing more details on the fun and festivities you can look forward to!

Please note that some facility hours vary and some facilities will be closed on Family Day. A full list of closures will be posted on the Family Day Town Facility Closures page.

Fireside Munsch

Join us at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts on Monday, February 17 at 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. for M. John Kennedy’s hit solo show Fireside Munsch, a high-energy performance featuring some of Robert Munsch’s classic stories performed as one wacky storytelling play! All tickets are $5.

There are three zany shows to choose from based on four beloved Munsch stories: Mud Puddle, Mortimer, The Paper Bag Princess and Jonathan Cleaned Up – Then He Heard a Sound.

M. John Kennedy has been nominated for 10 Dora awards over the course of his career, including nominations in writing, ensemble, producing and for Outstanding Performance by an Individual.

Activity schedules

The event schedule will be available to browse starting the week of February 10 and online registration will open on Friday, February 14 at 9 a.m. for Oakville residents. Registration for non-residents will start on Saturday, February 15 at 9 a.m. Please only sign up for programs you know you will attend to give everyone a chance to participate. All activities are free and require pre-registration unless otherwise stated.

Admission standards apply for all recreational swims and skates. Free skate and helmet rentals are available at select locations.
