Town announces new Commissioner of Corporate Services

After a comprehensive search, the Town of Oakville is pleased to announce that Sheryl Ayres will join the town’s Executive Leadership Team as the new Commissioner of Corporate Services effective April 7, 2025.   

Ms. Ayres brings with her an impressive career in municipal finance and strategic planning spanning close to 30 years. Most recently, she served as Chief Financial Officer with the City of Cambridge with expanded oversight of information technology and Service Cambridge. In addition to her extensive municipal experience, Ms. Ayres is a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA) and holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA).

As commissioner, Ms. Ayres will oversee the town’s corporate services departments of Communications and Customer Experience, Financial Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Solutions, Legal, and Town Clerk services.    

Ms. Ayres takes over the commissioner role from Nancy Sully who retired at the end of December after 34 years with the Town of Oakville.
