The town is pleased to announce that construction to build a new accessible and inclusive playground for Coronation Park will begin this spring. Playground construction will start mid-April, with an anticipated completion of mid-June.
Thanks to community feedback, the playground will feature rubberized surfacing, a non-verbal communication board, a sensory dome and wheelchair accessible equipment which align with the legislative requirements for the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), 2025 and meets the town’s commitment to improving accessibility to town services and facilities.
Construction will take place in two phases. Phase one involves site works to prepare for the installation of the rubberized surfacing and the play equipment. During phase two, the rubberized surfacing will be poured and play equipment will be installed.

● Coronation Park is one of Oakville’s premier destination parks located on the waterfront along Lake Ontario at 1426 Lakeshore Rd. W.
