Calling for expression of interest: Artist opportunity for 2025 Youth Mural Project

Thursday, April 03, 2025

Apply by May 25 for the unique opportunity to showcase your creativity and support local youth

Are you a professional artist with demonstrated experience working with youth? The Town of Oakville is inviting Expressions of Interest to lead the creation of an indoor public art mural at Iroquois Ridge Community Centre as a part of the town’s Youth Mural Project, now in its third year. This opportunity includes a maximum budget of up to $6,000.

The selected artist will collaborate with youth aged 13 to 18 (Grades 9 to 11) to design and paint a large-scale interior mural that reflects their shared vision and values. Youth participants will learn about mural art history, design principles, colour theory and painting techniques. The final artwork will be unveiled in May 2026.

Applications will be accepted until May 25, 2025. For more information visit the Call for Submissions page.
