Canada Post mail service to and from the Town of Oakville will be interrupted due to the postal strike. For time-sensitive town-related documents, there is a pick up/drop off table available at ServiceOakville in Town Hall.
The town continues to address the storm damage to town parks, trails, roads, ditches and culverts. Please note the following service impacts caused by the recent storm.
Parks
Lions Valley Park re-opened on July 26. The playground re-opened on August 27.
Trails
Many trails have experienced erosion and the public is advised to exercise extreme caution if using them.
Staff are currently inspecting trail conditions, which will take several days to complete.
Be safe: Water levels are high
Elevated water levels, fast flowing water, and slippery conditions along stream banks continue to make these locations extremely dangerous. Please alert children in your care of these imminent dangers. Visit the Conservation Halton website to read their watershed statement.
Residents are advised to keep a safe distance from all watercourses, Lake Ontario shoreline areas, and structures such as piers, bridges, culverts, breakwalls, and dams.
Thank you for patience while we continue to assess the situation.
