Please note that the following facility closures and transit schedule adjustments will be in effect during the Labour Day holiday on Monday, September 2, 2024.

- Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts
- Seniors’ Centres
- Community centres
- Indoor pools
- Outdoor pools (Lions outdoor pool will be open on September 2)
- Arenas
- Cemetery offices
- Harbour offices
- Municipal parking lot at 300 Church Street
This year, the Oakville Museum (including the Old Post Office) will be open on Labour Day, September 2, from 1 to 4:30 p.m.
Transit Service
Oakville Transit is offering its holiday service schedule on Monday, September 4, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Visit the Oakville Transit website for details.
Open air burning, fireworks and cottage fire safety tips
If your long weekend plans include a trip to the cottage, outdoor fires or fireworks, the Oakville Fire department is urging you to take the proper precautions to stay safe.

Report fireworks concerns
If you have any concerns about the use of fireworks that are set off on municipal property including parks and boulevards, or family/religious/cultural fireworks that are unsafe and not during the allowed times, please use our Report a Problem tool.
In accordance with the Fireworks By-law, family fireworks are only permitted between dusk and 11 p.m. on the day of, day before or day after the following holidays:
- Victoria Day
- Canada Day
- New Years Day
- Any religious or cultural celebrations where fireworks are used to celebrate the religious or cultural event
