Canada Post mail service to and from the Town of Oakville will be interrupted due to the postal strike. For time-sensitive town-related documents, there is a pick up/drop off table available at ServiceOakville in Town Hall.
Registration opens for fire services camp for young women in Halton

Blaze Fire Academy, a joint initiative of the fire departments in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills, is now accepting online applications for its camp for young women, ages 15 to 18.
This is an opportunity to get a firsthand experience into all aspects of the fire service – fire suppression and more. The online applications close on June 23, 2023.
Up to 24 participants will be selected for the career camp to be held on August 9 and 10, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fire Training Campus in Oakville, with immersive training offered as follows:

Fire dispatch
Search and rescue
Auto extrication
Medical
Panel discussion with Fire Chiefs from across Halton region
August 10
Forcible entry and roof operations
Fire hydrant competition
Firefighter survival
Fire prevention and education
Information session with post-secondary institutions such as Seneca College, about fire service education courses and certification
Graduation ceremony
The camp for young women is one of three career camps offered by Blaze Fire Academy in 2023. Other camps include:
One for adults considering a career transition into the fire services to be held on June 6, 13 and 17. Registration has closed for this camp and 24 participants have been selected to attend.
The other camp is open to anyone 18 years or older. This camp will be held in November 2023 with registration set to open in October.
