The Oakville Fire Department has lifted the town-wide fire ban for all open-air burning effective immediately, June 12, 2023. The decision to end the burn ban is based on the improving air quality and rainfall forecast.
The town had issued a fire ban on June 8 due to dry weather conditions and smoke from wildfires in Ontario and Quebec.
Oakville Fire advises the community to continue practising fire safety, including when using open fire and fire pits, propane barbecues, cooking indoors and outdoors, candle use and to ensure that smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms are in working condition.
