Oakville sister city, Pengzhou, China’s annual youth link art exhibit goes digital this year, offering Oakville youth the opportunity to participate in the online calligraphy and painting exhibition themed by “Communication through Calligraphy and Paintings, Process by Hand in Hand”.
Hosted by Foreign Affairs Office of Pengzhou Municipal People’s Government, the 2021 Pengzhou Youth Link aims to further deepen mutual understanding, consolidate and enhance friendships among the youth between sister cities.
“This is a nice opportunity for young artists from our community to have their works displayed virtually among works from residents in Oakville’s sister city, Pengzhou, China,” said Mayor Rob Burton.
The theme, Hometown in My Eyes, will showcase sincere emotions and colourful dreams shared by international youth, and at the same time highlight the unique cultural charm of different countries.
Oakville residents aged 5 to 17 are invited to submit a calligraphy, painting or other original graphic display work corresponding to the theme.
The works will be exhibited in WeChat public accounts of Foreign Affairs Office of Pengzhou Municipal People’s Government, Pengzhou Municipal Education Bureau, and Pengzhou Appreciation successively and then will be exhibited online in art galleries and offline.
The works will be kept by Foreign Affairs Office of Pengzhou Municipal People’s Government and only used for public welfare publicity, not for commercial use, and the author's name will be indicated when the work is used.
