The Town of Oakville has received a complete application by Calloway REIT (Hopedale) Inc. for a proposed official plan amendment.
The purpose of the official plan amendment is to add a site-specific exception to the Community Commercial designation to permit residential uses on the easterly portion of the subject lands.
The effect of the application is to redevelop a 2.9 ha portion of the 8.5 ha South Oakville Centre with 86 townhouse units ranging in height between 2 to 3 storeys and one 9 storey retirement residence containing 131 independent supportive units, and 30 assisted living units with access from a proposed internal private road network.
The subject parcel of land is located at the northeast corner of Third Line and Rebecca Street.
If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Town of Oakville to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to Council c/o the Town Clerk at the Town of Oakville, Clerk’s department, 1225 Trafalgar Road, Oakville, ON L6H 0H3 or at TownClerk@oakville.ca before the official plan amendment is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to Council c/o the Town Clerk at the Town of Oakville, Clerk’s department, before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
