In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Culture Days event is extending beyond its traditional weekend to a more inclusive and interactive four-week schedule of activities.
Running from September 25 to October 25, Culture Days offers free events and activities suitable to physical distancing, including digital presentations, self-guided tours, and pre-registered/drop-in workshops.
“Culture Days showcases how arts and culture breathes life into to the economic and social well-being of our community,” said Mayor Rob Burton. “Culture Days promotes inclusivity, awareness and engagement in arts and culture for all Canadians. It reminds us that culture is for everyone, regardless of age, location, background or income.”
As part of the nation-wide Culture Days festivities, Oakville residents will have the opportunity to explore visual arts, dance, trail walks, historic tours, meditation, and more both online and in-person. In-person activities must be pre-booked in advance and will be offered in a way that meets provincial and regional COVID-19 health and safety protocols. A full schedule of events including registration details is available on our Culture Days page.
Culture Days provides a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of artists, creators, and historians to inspire greater participation in arts and culture. Participants are encouraged to share photos of their Culture Days experiences on social media with #CultureDaysOakville.
