The Integrity Commissioner does not investigate complaints about Town of Oakville staff. Those matters are handled by the Office of the Ombudsman.

When to file a complaint

If you have identified behaviour or activity by a member of Council that you believe violates the Council Code of Conduct or Municipal Conflict of Interest Act, you can submit a complaint to the Integrity Commissioner.

How to file a complaint

Complaints about violations of Council’s Code of Conduct by one or more members of Council can be forwarded to the Integrity Commissioner.

Town of Oakville staff will not assist in forwarding complaints to the Integrity Commissioner.

What happens next?

The Integrity Commissioner reviews the complaint, determines if it is a valid complaint that falls within the Integrity Commissioner’s jurisdiction. After this, they then contact you regarding next steps in the process.
