Photography in Parks
Oakville has many beautiful parks and gardens that provide the perfect backdrop for special occasion photos.

We have many parks and gardens for your special occasion photos, including weddings, engagements, family gatherings, and graduations.
Reservations for specific photography locations can be made online up to 45 days before the selected date of your booking.
Reservations are not required at:
- Shell Park: This location has more than 500 blooming roses between June and September, and 10,000 annuals flowering from May to September.
- Nottinghill Park: This location has four perennial flower beds in bloom from April to October including an ornamental grass collection and 7,500 annuals.
Advance reservations are required at:
- Gairloch Gardens: This location offers picturesque views of Lake Ontario and extensive gardens, including a rose garden.
- Erchless Estate (Oakville Museum): This location overlooks Oakville Harbour and features historic gardens, including a rock garden.
- The Butterfly Gazebo at waterside park at Fisherman's Wharf.
Photography bookings are offered in 90-minute sessions, based on availability. Groups that have a confirmed reservation can capture their special moments throughout the park location but are asked to be considerate of other users. Details about facility rental requirements are available on the Facility Rentals page.
- Starting on the hour, reservations are available between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
- These 90-minute intervals, including arrival and departure times, are $282 (plus HST).
- Parking is limited, cannot be guaranteed and is restricted to designated areas only. Vehicles are not allowed on any grassed areas. Limousine parking is prohibited.
- There is no access to indoor facilities or washrooms.
- Cancellations are accepted up to 14 days in advance. Please plan to make your event weather appropriate, rain or shine.
To make sure our security staff and parks patrol are aware of all scheduled events, these online bookings are only available four or more days in advance.

- Cancellations must be submitted in writing a minimum of 14 days before the (first) rental date for a full refund.
- Refunds requested within less than 14 days’ notice cannot be accommodated.
- The department reserves the right to cancel a room rental agreement or close any function for failure to observe all facility conditions, and/or retain full or portions of the damage deposit.
- An administration charge as set through the annual budget process will be levied for all payment returned non-sufficient funds. Notice will be sent to customers with non-compliance payments and facility access may be restricted until outstanding payments are rectified.
