Advanced reservations for select picnic locations can be made online up to 45 days before the desired date of your booking. Some restrictions apply.
Coronation Park
Located just east of Third Line at 1426 Lakeshore Road West, Coronation Park has five large, designated picnic areas, public washrooms, a fully accessible playground and a splash pad.
Picnic bookings are offered with start times of 8 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., but you may reserve a three or six-hour block.
Lions Valley Park
Picnic bookings will only be offered at Lions Valley Park on Saturdays and Sundays during 2024 due to the Regional Municipality of Halton’s expansion of the William Halton Parkway. Construction vehicles will be parked in the lot off Dundas Street and travelling through Lions Valley Park during the week.
Located west of Neyagawa Boulevard at 1150 Dundas Street West, amenities in the park include two large designated picnic areas, seasonal accessible washrooms, a playground with accessible features and access to several trails.
Three-hour picnic bookings are offered on Saturdays and Sundays only with start times of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Access to the picnic areas requires walking a minimum of 150 metres, including crossing a bridge over Sixteen Mile Creek and a gravel path.
Whether booking a space for your next event or enjoying a park space casually, please only bring reusable or biodegradable containers. If using plastic, please dispose of your items in the appropriate recycling bins provided.
- Personal barbecues, grills, fires and other cooking appliances are not permitted.
- Staking/setting up tents or canopies is not permitted.
- Catering is permitted in a drop-off only function. No caterers are permitted to be onsite cooking or serving food.
- Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited.
- All setup and takedown is to be completed within the start and end times of the contract.
- To ensure security staff and parks patrol are aware of all scheduled events, these online bookings are only available four or more days in advance.

Picnic area permit fees for 2024 are based on a three-hour booking. Additional hours booked beyond the three hours will have additional charges applied.
- Picnic fee for Oakville residents, $98.32 (plus HST)
- Picnic fee for non-residents, $228.86 (plus HST)
- Cancellations must be submitted in writing a minimum of 14 days before the (first) rental date for a full refund.
- Refunds requested within less than 14 days’ notice cannot be accommodated.
- The department reserves the right to cancel a room rental agreement or close any function for failure to observe all facility conditions, and/or retain full or portions of the damage deposit.
- An administration charge as set through the annual budget process will be charged for all payment returned non-sufficient funds. Notice will be sent to customers with non-compliance payments and facility access may be restricted until outstanding payments are paid in full.
