Online application process
The Town of Oakville supports filming projects within the town, and issues a permit for approved projects and recognizes that the film and television industry can provide both direct and indirect economic benefit to the community.
Town policies apply to all commercial filming and photography on municipal property excluding current affairs and newscast.

Review filming guidelines, requirements and considerations:
- Contact film.liason@oakville.ca, to discuss your film plans so we can support you in completing the applications needed to begin the permit process and determine applicable fees. Please keep in mind the posted minimum timelines for processing, notification letters, and approvals and to not lock your location ahead of time.
- Submit a completed Film Request Form.
- For road occupancy needs such as parking on municipal streets or lane closures to support your film location please also fill out the following forms and email them directly to film.liaison@oakville.ca.

- Filming Permit: Release and Waiver of Liability Form (pdf)
- Apply for a noise exemption permit, if applicable. Please keep in mind minimum timelines for processing and approval. Fees are non-refundable. Unsure if you need one? Please let the film liaison know of any noise you expect in your shoot.
- These additional documents must be submitted before your permit is issued. Please email your documents to film.liaison@oakville.ca.
- Your Certificate of Insurance with the Corporation of the Town of Oakville listed as additionally insured (student production insurance must be from your academic institution as your production company).
- Overhead map/image of your film shoot plans noting the scene, crew, equipment placement, and initial parking requests.
- Letter from the academic institution confirming program enrolment for student filming purposes.
